Biography: Bill Bradley is a Basketball and College Basketball Hall of Fame shooting guard and American politician.

After gaining Consensus first-team All-American honours with Princeton University and winning a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964, Bradley was again All-American in 1965.

He was taken by the New York Knicks in the 1965 NBA Draft but did not sign immediately in order to study at Oxford University from where he commuted to Italy to play for Olimpia Milano, winning the European Champions Cup.

He then played the next 10 years with the Knicks winning 2 NBA Championships in 1970 and 1973 whilst also exploring social and political issues, meeting with journalists, government officials, academics, businesspeople and social activists.

Bradley served three terms as a Democratic US Senator from New Jersey (1979–97) and ran for the Democratic Party's nomination for president in the 2000 election, which he lost to Vice President Al Gore.
