Mo shared that he grew up in foster care and “lived in quite a lot of different places.” He said he felt “blessed” that so many people wanted to take care of him. Mo also said that music has felt like a parent to him over the years.
“I could tell you were very connected to that song,” Jennifer Hudson told him after his audition, calling him “a reminder of just how powerful music is.” Mo chose to join her team, and made it all the way to the final.
For his last performance, Mo sang “Unsteady” by X Ambassadors. Jennifer could be seen wiping away tears as she watched him perform. Mo himself also appeared to be getting emotional. Still crying, Jennifer gave him a standing ovation when the song was finished.
Where Is Mo Jamil Now?
During the show, Mo had a chance to perform “Beneath Your Beautiful” with his coach Jennifer. In an interview, Mo shared that Jennifer “brought out the best in me” and said he was “grateful” to work with her.
After winning Season 6 of The Voice UK in 2017, Mo released his first album, Evolve, in 2018. It featured songs he had performed on the show, including “Iron Sky” and “Unsteady.”
